Positioning Resources are pleased to announce the arrival of the NEW TruPulse 360 Laser Rangefinder from Laser Technology Inc. The laser combines an integrated compass, inclinometer and distance laser that delivers mapping-grade accuracy and the ability to shoot from any angle.
The TruPulse 360 utilises the latest electronic compass technology to overcome limitations on other devices. The internal circuitry provides 3-axis monitoring of the earth’s magnetic field and uses LTI’s TruVector compass technology and calibration algorithms to produce the best possible azimuth accuracy regardless of the instrument’s orientation in physical space. The TruPulse 360 can be tilted, rolled or even used upside down, and it will measure the correct azimuth in the direction that the user is viewing, allowing ultimate freedom.
TruVector compass technology also allows for a simple field calibration procedure. It evaluates the local magnetic environment and provides user feedback on the quality of calibration. In addition, the instrument keeps a constant watch on its internal status via built-in system tests, which continually monitor the integrity of the compass calibration and alert the user if a re-calibration is required.
Data Capture Specialists, Positioning Resources Ltd, have been providing positioning and mapping solutions to both public and private sector organisations since 1983. The TruPulse 360 joins a variety of products including the TruPulse 200, handheld PC’s and our software, PocketGIS, to ensure that Positioning Resources can provide a solution for every application.
As UK distributors for LTI’s survey products, Positioning Resources will make the TruPulse 360 available through a network of UK dealers, or contact us direct.

Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.HAVE WE REALLY LEARNT THE LESSONS FROM LAST YEAR’S FLOODS?
Flooding costs associated with extreme weather, both financial and emotional, have increased considerably over the last decade, and experts have predicted this trend is set to continue.
Paul Livett, Chairman of GroundSure looks into how increasing the use of flood risk information in property transactions can help to ensure both residential and commercial transactions are conducted on a truly informed basis, with buyers being made aware of environmental risks prior to purchase.
Over 2.2 million homes and small businesses in the UK are located in areas considered at risk of flooding, and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that 570,000 of these face a high risk of flooding. The floods in June and July last year left approximately 48,000 households… More…
