Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) .....

Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) applications within the transport sector

When: Thursday 25th March 2010, 9.30am - 4.00pm

Where: Sir Colin Campbell Building, Jubilee Campus, The University of Nottingham

Hear from key decision-makers in the automotive and rail sectors about the challenges facing transport providers and the opportunities for innovation. Find out how GRACE, the world-class centre of excellence in Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) at The University of Nottingham, can help your company to capitalise on these opportunities and how you can access regional and national grants to help fund research and development.

With the GALILEO satellite system generating great interest from global industry stakeholders, there are extensive opportunities for small to medium sized enterprises across the supply chain to develop innovative technologies for the ultimate benefit of the transport sector. Leaders in supply chain management in the transport sector will describe the challenges that they face in locating and tracking goods, the technologies and approaches that they have adopted to meet them and the opportunities.

Paul Bhatia, General Manager of GRACE, will talk about the new facility housed in the Nottingham Geospatial Building and specifically its work in the transport sector. There will also be an opportunity to take a tour of GRACE's world-leading facilities to further demonstrate collaborative opportunities with the University.

Find out:
1. How GNSS technologies can be more widely applied and data collected more quickly, easily and accurately from the field
2. What technology has been developed to integrate and access any asset records in a uniform way
3. What funds are available to support R&D activity in this area.

Who should attend?
- Organisations and individuals working in the transport and logistics sector.
- GNSS hardware and software applications developers, research or consultancy organisations, Technical Directors, Manufacturing Directors, Researchers, Product Developers/Inventors, Hardware Engineers and Production Managers.
