PenBay Selects Trimble’s Indoor Mobile Mapping Solution to Offer Expanded Services

Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that PenBay Solutions LLC has selected the Trimble® Indoor Mobile Mapping Solution (TIMMS) for indoor mapping service. PenBay, a leader in bringing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology inside the building, will use TIMMS as a key enabler to expand PenBay’s current solutions for real property and public safety applications, helping facility managers, space planners and emergency response agencies understand the critical infrastructure of buildings.

The announcement was today at the International LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) Mapping Forum 2010.

The goal of PenBay’s expanded service is to offer an advanced GIS solution to clients interested in mapping the as-built interior environment. The collective capabilities that the companies bring to this market result in rapid, accurate data collection and visualization solutions using an innovative indoor 3D LiDAR platform from Trimble.

PenBay selected TIMMS after successfully collaborating with Trimble to provide the City of Philadelphia with accurate data and a 3D view of the City’s busiest underground areas. The city has been working with the data to address facility management, public safety and real property challenges. TIMMS is an indoor mobile mapping solution for facilities management.
