Océ maps out service improvements with Masternaut satellite tracking

Océ has boosted its field service productivity with satellite tracking over the web. The global printing and document management company successfully completed a trial of a Masternaut Three X vehicle tracking service, achieving a significant return on their investment with 15% increased productivity and improved customer service. The Masternaut Three X solution - which uses Microsoft Virtual Earth to give an accurate, birds eye view of vehicle location, status and speed - will now become a permanent mobile resource management tool.

Océ operate a nationwide network of home based technicians who service a customer base using a range of print and document management solutions including printers, copiers and fax machines. Controlled from two regional service centres all visits to customer sites are carefully planned ensuring the timely dispatch of both qualified technicians and required parts. Masternaut allows the Océ planning team and Regional Service Directors to locate vehicles, in real time, via any Internet enabled device. This has helped with the day-to-day allocation of technicians to client site visits and the overall management of the mobile resource.

“Masternaut gives complete transparency on our mobile operation,” commented Richard Cornish, National Service Operations Manager. “This helped us achieve a 15% increase in productivity, improved performance management and monitoring and has facilitated better resource allocation and usage.” He continued, “in addition, working in partnership with Masternaut, we undertook a ‘Return on Investment’ review and estimated that with the gains achieved through increased productivity and reduced costs the system more than pays for itself.”

“Our ability to provide total service solutions is becoming a major factor in our customers’ buying decisions. It is no longer good enough to have excellent products we must also provide excellent support. Masternaut will help us achieve and maintain this,” continued Cornish. “Masternaut are also committed to providing first class service and support to their customers and this has been evident at every stage of the process.”

Masternaut Three X is a specialist in innovative vehicle tracking and mobile workforce applications delivered over the web. Increasing business efficiency, reducing overheads and minimising environmental impact Masternaut Three X creates, delivers and supports end to end solutions including back office systems for finance and CRM, mobile workforce applications and Europe’s leading telematics systems delivering vehicle tracking and activity reporting to more than 100,000 subscribers across the UK and Ireland.
