Océ (UK) Ltd and Newforma announce partnership

Océ (UK) Ltd, and Newforma® Inc., today announced they have signed a formal agreement to authorise Océ (UK) to sell, market, implement and support Newforma® Project Center in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Under a preliminary agreement in place for Q3 and Q4 of last year, Océ (UK), a leading global provider of document management and printing solutions, successfully introduced Newforma, a software company addressing the project information management (PIM) needs of the design and building industry, into a number of prominent UK-based international design organisations. These included Tate and Hindle, John Robertson Architects and Silcock Dawson. According to John Robertson Architects IT Manager Graham Thomas, the Océ and Newforma partnership served to solidify his firm’s decision to move forward with Newforma Project Center. “With projects being driven by e-mails this was the first system we found that not only understood the problem but provided a solution that works.”

The Océ (UK) and Newforma reseller partnership is in addition to a cooperative technical relationship established earlier in 2008 between Océ and Newforma, to support integration between Newforma Project Center and Océ Publisher, a software utility used for print preparation and submission to Océ ReproDesk users.

Océ (UK) Managing Director Bron Curley said: “Based on the positive response from our first joint customers, we are increasingly excited about the opportunity to introduce Newforma’s project information management (PIM) software to design and construction firms in the UK and Ireland. Newforma’s solution brings an invaluable project context to all the information and documentation on a project – from managing large volumes of project email to the digital exchange of drawings and model views. Newforma is a natural extension to the support Océ already provides design and construction firms in this information-intensive, documentation-driven industry.”

Newforma Vice President of Global Sales and Services Vic Sanchez said: “We are privileged to have formalised a relationship with Océ (UK). This is a winning situation for all. Newforma customers benefit from the localised support they will receive from Océ’s highly qualified team. Newforma benefits from Océ’s strong relationships with AEC firms in a large and strategic international market, and Océ UK benefits from the opportunity to introduce an important and complementary solution, already in use by more than 28,000 licensed users in the US, to the firms in their region.”
