Porsche Design P'9611 Navigation Device takes sophisticated lead with NAVTEQ map data
New PNA from NAVIGON equipped for optimal navigation experience
NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), is providing the map data for NAVIGON’s new PNA (Personal Navigation Assistant) Porsche Design Navigation Device P'9611. Created in conjunction with Porsche Design, the navigation system combines purist design, outstanding functionality and precision. In choosing NAVTEQ map data, NAVIGON is continuing its long-term and successful co-operation with this supplier.
Featuring a timeless design and good quality materials for the housing and electronic components, the P’9611 improves the look of any dashboard. But it’s more than just a smart design as NAVIGON’s MobileNavigator6 software also offers great functionality and precision. With digital map data from NAVTEQ, the P’9611 is able to offer navigation for 38 Western and Eastern European countries and, due to the standard map data specifications, guides seamlessly across national borders. In addition, the NAVTEQ data includes Extended Lane attributes, which help drivers navigate complex crossroads and motorway exits with ease: when the driver approaches a complicated junction, the navigation system shows which lane is most convenient through the use of precise acoustic and visual signals.
Interaction with the device is through the intuitive menu on the large touch screen display. The P’9611 includes an ultra-sensitive GPS receiver; a powerful Bluetooth hands-free facility; and, via the NAVTEQ map data, access to TMC (Traffic Message Channel) so drivers can avoid wasting time in traffic jams. There are also over two million POIs (Points of Interest) such as restaurants, hotels and retail outlets etc. which can make a straightforward trip from A to B a comfortable and interesting journey. Another convenient feature is the automatic adjustment of voice instruction volume to take into account driving noise.
