NaFRA (National Flood Risk Assessment) 2008 Launch

WEDNESDAY 10th June 2009
The Law Society’s Hall, London

The Environment Agency is delighted to announce the launch of NaFRA 2008.

The NaFRA 2008 dataset is a high level assessment of the likelihood of flooding from rivers and the sea across the whole of England and Wales, and the expected annual damages from flooding.

The data is based on a new and innovative method for flood risk assessment that factors in the location, type, condition and effects of flood defences in reducing the chance of flooding. It is currently the best available information on flood risk that covers the whole of England and Wales.

We would like to invite you to attend our event on Wednesday 10th June 2009 at The Law Society’s Hall, 113 Chancery Lane, London, WC2A 1PL.

We are running two identical half day sessions. The morning session will start at 10.30am (registration from 9.30) and will end at 1.00pm, to include lunch. The afternoon session will start at 3.00pm (registration from 2.00pm) and will end at 6.00pm to include drinks and canapés. Don’t forget to tell us which session you would like to attend.

During the sessions, we will explain how the NaFRA 2008 model was built and what it contains, as well as highlighting the significant improvements made over the previous version. The exhibition area will show some of the many applications of NaFRA 2008 developed by our Value Added Resellers, providing a greater understanding of how the data could be used within your organisation.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

We look forward to seeing you there!
