Mouchel has successfully installed a new group-wide mapping system.
Called maps@mouchel, the new web portal will allow Mouchel to centrally manage and distribute Ordnance Survey datasets and licenses, bringing improved service delivery to its clients.
The new approach was designed by Mouchel's land information management business LandAspects in partnership with Bristol-based software company Innogistic. It is the first system in the UK to combine map licensing and data management for a large organisation.
Mouchel business unit director Mark Hurley said: "Being able to centrally manage geospatial information is an increasingly common request for new contracts, particularly those in the public sector. Utilising maps@mouchel will enable us to improve the efficiency of our clients' mapping-related projects."
Innogistic GIS business manager Jason Jones added: "This is a strategic project for Innogistic, as well as Mouchel. Its ground-breaking nature will lead the way in the implementation of larger GIS projects for the future."

Adopting Cloud computing can save money, but good governance is essential to manage the risk argues Mike Small
