Mercator Suite 7, the new version of STAR-APIC’s cartographic production software, will be demonstrated for the first time in the US on the STAR-APIC stand (booth 419) at the Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers (AAG) from March 23-27, 2009 in Las Vegas. Over 7000 visitors and delegates are expected to attend this year’s event that includes over 4000 presentations and over 60 exhibitors.
Suite 7 constitutes a major release of Mercator which highlights the adoption of PDF as the core graphic format. This will result in a still higher throughput speed for map
products, while giving the same guarantee of consistency for which Mercator is so well-known.
In addition to the introduction of PDF, Mercator Suite 7 offers a range of new functions, enabling its users to produce maps and related products even more easily and efficiently than before. A number of these functions have been integrated from MercatorDB, the database-linked version of Mercator, which will also be demonstrated.
In addition to exhibiting, the STAR-APIC team are also presenting a Workshop Producing quality mapping efficiently and consistently with MERCATOR” on Wednesday March 25th at 3:10pm.
