Masternaut helps Help-Link make savings on vehicle costs
Help-Link UK Ltd, one of the largest reactive maintenance companies in the north of England has achieved a 10% reduction in vehicle running costs since they implemented an advanced web based vehicle management and tracking service from Masternaut. By monitoring the movements of each of their service engineer and installation vehicles using satellite technology, managers at the
Castleford headquarters have seen a reduction in out of hours usage, implemented a proactive maintenance programme and seen a marked increase in operational efficiencies.
Help-Link provides a full portfolio of professional trade services to both the general public and Social Housing sector including contracts with Harrogate Borough Council and the City of York Council. The company is one of the only UK organisations to have achieved Corgi Certification and is recognised for their promptness and efficiency, the personal service they provide, working proactively and implementing new technology, such as Masternaut.
“The Masternaut service supports the Help-Link philosophy; that whoever the customer may be they should receive the highest standards and the most prompt and proactive service possible,” said Neil Barron, Company Director. “ Masternaut is an integral part of the action plan that ensures continued delivery of this philosophy. Using Masternaut we can manage the mobile workforce ensuring maximum productivity and continued customer satisfaction while minimising costs”.
Masternaut uses satellite technology combined with high speed communications to establish and communicate the exact position of each of the Help-Link service and installation vehicles. With unique vehicle / driver identification and minute by minute movement tracking, all accessed via a secure, easy to use interface, managers know where their personnel are, where they have been and even where they are heading.
“The Masternaut service has seen a 10% reduction in vehicle running costs,” continued Barron. “Both through improved efficiencies achieved in the course of our day to day operations and also as a result of reduced personal use of company vehicles. Changes to the rules governing the use of company vans for private mileage could have a significant impact for our staff, however using Masternaut we can easily distinguish between business and personal use and
we have implemented an opt in system for personnel who wish to use their vehicles out of hours. In addition, because we have accurate usage records for each vehicle we are able to be more proactive with our maintenance. In the long term this will further reduce costs and minimise off road time”.
