Mark Percival joins AGI Team to serve Suppliers

The AGI is extremely pleased to welcome Mark Percival as the AGI Commercial Research and Support Officer. This new post will support the Services and Supplier Special Interest Group (SIG) providing research services and support for subjects and activities pertinent to the SIG. It is funded by subscriptions paid by members of the Suppliers' SIG. Mark will also be supporting the AGI Team in the provision of services to members and will report to AGI Director Chris Holcroft.

Mark PercivalMark has worked in GIS in local government for 19 years developing policy and strategy in GIS and data management and has been involved in the procurement and management of corporate information systems. Outside of local government Mark has worked with the University sector in large scale project bids; been a member of the AGI Committee and is involved with event planning as part of his voluntary role as Membership Secretary with the MapInfo Users Group United Kingdom and Ireland. Mark also presents on GIS at various conferences throughout the UK.

Mark brings a wealth of knowledge in GIS and systems management to both the AGI and Suppliers SIG.

'Mark is known to many in our community and has a long and respected track record in the GIS industry' said Chris Holcroft, Director, AGI. 'His experience and wide range of technical skills, project management, business expertise and time spent with the voluntary sector makes him an ideal resource for the growing AGI Suppliers' SIG. The SIG has taken an important step in its development and the AGI's capabilities will be boosted by this appointment' he added.

About the SIG:
All AGI members, the Services and Suppliers SIG are a group of like-minded companies and independent consultants who have come together with the common goal of raising the profile of the GIS industry within existing markets. The SIG has an agreed work programme of activity for the benefit of its members. As well as existing markets, the SIG will explore new opportunities where GIS would have a positive impact.
