Lincolnshire County Council Chooses Confirm®.....

Lincolnshire County Council Chooses Confirm® to Deliver a Single Highways Asset Management Platform

Pitney Bowes Business Insight’s Flagship Infrastructure Asset Management System to Manage All Assets Related to Lincolnshire’s Highways Network

Pitney Bowes Business Insight (PBBI), a global provider of location and communication intelligence software, data and services, today announces that Lincolnshire County Council has selected Confirm®, its leading infrastructure asset maintenance and management system, as a single platform to manage all assets which make up the Lincolnshire highways network.

Demonstrating unparalleled capability in delivering a single system facilitating access and visibility to all Lincolnshire highways asset management stakeholders, Confirm was selected as part of a year-long and rigorous formal EU procurement process in which five leading and incumbent asset management suppliers competed for the contract.

“A truly effective, single system for all our highways-related works was paramount to our needs and imperative to our broader efficiency drive,” said Alan Aistrup, Divisional Highways Manager, Lincolnshire County Council.

“Pitney Bowes Business Insight clearly demonstrated Confirm to be the best fit to manage all the assets across our highways network, joining together disparate systems to streamline processes and, critically, to deliver a single view to speed up procedures across the board.”

Confirm will streamline the multiple back-office systems and databases currently managing Lincolnshire County Council’s highways related assets, addressing consistency and efficiency issues across the department. It will quickly merge current asset information held in different systems in line with Traffic Management Act requirements for Street Work Administration and, critically, it will present a single source of information for highways officers, term maintenance contractors and other stakeholders.

“We are thrilled to have Confirm selected by Lincolnshire – the cohesive vision the Council has for its highways asset management is exactly what Confirm is designed to do!” said Pitney Bowes Business Insight’s Dominic McNeillis, Product Marketing Manager for Confirm, EMEA.

“In choosing Confirm as a single asset management platform, Lincolnshire will achieve a complete, integrated approach to data collection, business processes and reporting, leading to operational and efficiency gains expected to be worth more than £1million over five years.”

Full deployment is scheduled for completion in March 2011, planned in stages with the first phase delivering on Traffic Management Act requirements for Street Works Administration late this summer. Integration with customer service centres for public enquires is being considered and additional, modular Confirm capabilities including street lighting and traffic signals will be assessed once the core system is fully operational.
