Leica Geosystems Partners with UK’s Leading Data Communications Specialist
Wireless Logic
Leica Geosystems, manufacturer of world leading measuring and positioning equipment, announces that it has signed a partnership agreement with UK’s leading specialists in SIM based communications over GPRS, 3G and HSDPA networks. The partnership will enable Leica Geosystems to offer a private Vodafone or O2 fixed IP SIM card for its Leica SmartNet network RTK. This will allow SmartNet customers to benefit from continuous connectivity and a dedicated private IP address from Vodafone or O2, giving users the peace of mind of private GPRS SIM cards that do not suffer from outages like normal public SIMs.
Leica SmartNet users will have a choice of SIM cards to operate within a limited or unlimited SmartNet license with the flexibility and scalability to add additional Megabytes (MB) when needed. Wireless Logic will offer a service that can move existing user contracts to the new SIM cards and will provide a unique monitoring link between the SmartNet GNSS network servers and mobile field devices. Airtime and connectivity will be fully managed by both Leica Geosystems and Wireless Logic, who will also provide 24/7 SIM card technical and network support and next day dispatch.
“Wireless Logic will provide our customers with a trusted, secure and cost effective private GPRS service that will enable them to increase their productivity and data availability, together with full support and monitoring of GPRS data traffic between our servers and field connections.
The Leica SmartNet solution is fast becoming the default commercial network RTK in the UK and Ireland, supported by our partner Ordnance Survey. We are committed in striving to offer our customers a best in class, world leading
service. The partnership with Wireless Logic means that our customers can work faster and smarter than ever before” comments Mark Burbidge, ESA SmartNet Manager, Leica Geosystems.
"At Wireless Logic, we aim to provide our strategic partners with not only the appropriate data packages for their business requirements, but also a secure and resilient dedicated managed network. Leica Geosystems offer innovative reference solutions, which coupled with Wireless Logic's managed airtime solution, will enable their customers to utilise an extremely powerful GNSS solution." comments Jon Smith, Business Development Manager, Wireless Logic.
