Launch of partnership with Vodafone McLaren....

Launch of partnership with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and large order intake from 3D Scantech

Coventry, 18th June 2010 – FARO, the world’s leading provider of portable measurement and imaging systems, has seen a huge success at this year’s MACH which took place at the NEC, Birmingham from 7th – 11th June 2010.

David Homewood, Area Vice President for the UK, France and Benelux is highly satisfied with the outcome of the show, “MACH is the most established showcase for UK manufacturing. It is the UK’s premier manufacturing technologies event, and we have seen a very high level of interest in our products. We noticed that visitors are more and more educated and have deep understanding of the technology. Especially our FARO ScanArm received very positive feedback.”

There’s also hard proof of the success of the show in the form of a six-figure sale to long-standing customer and partner 3D Scantech Limited. They have purchased three FaroArm Platinum, one FARO Laser Line Probe, one FARO Laser Tracker and two sets of the FARO’s measurement software CAM2 Q. The company has very successfully offered subcontracting measurement service for the last three years and is now also offering the possibility to rent their systems.

The show also marked the visible start of FARO’s partnership with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes by using a rear wing as a demo part on their show. FARO is proud to be an ‘Official Supplier’ for measuring systems and to be a member of McLaren’s World Class Partner Group.

Visitors could see live demos of FARO’s Laser Tracker ION which is the most advanced, state-of-the-art FARO Laser Tracker ever introduced as well as the new software version for the FaroArm and Laser Tracker – CAM2 Q. FARO’s product range also included the FaroArm product line consisting of Quantum, Platinum, and Fusion, which are flexibly deployable, portable measuring systems for 3D measurements. For Mechanical Engineers FARO offered the ideal solution with the FARO Gage which is the smallest and most precise FARO measuring arm. The product range was toped off by the FARO Laser Scanner Photon. Combined with the new FARO Scene software it offers users the fastest and longest range phase shift laser scanning solution in the market place.
