Intermap Technologies partnership with Autodesk

Intermap Technologies Becomes Independent Software Vendor Partner to Autodesk

Intermap Technologies Corp. today announced its partnership with Autodesk as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV). Intermap’s highly accurate 3D elevation models for the United States will be combined with AutoCAD Map 3D and Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise applications to enable users to gain access to terrain mapping data essential in a wide range of applications and markets. Intermap’s solutions are designed to enhance the business of Autodesk and their mutual customers in several engineering and geospatial markets by providing a solid foundation layer of terrain data essential to the accurate planning, modeling and visualization of any application where elevation matters.

“At Autodesk, our goal is to continue our leadership in design with the most comprehensive solution,” said Masako Takagi, director, ISV North American Channel at Autodesk. “We recognize that our ISV partners, such as Intermap Technologies have unique offerings that allow both parties to mutually extend value to our customer base.”

Initially, Intermap’s digital elevation models for the United States will be bundled with, and available through, AutoCAD Map 3D and Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise. A wide range of Autodesk users – from architects to civil engineers and from city planners to managers of water districts ̶ will be able to access highly accurate and uniform elevation models for use within the Autodesk application. These high-resolution models will enhance a myriad of solutions, including background referencing, site planning, visual impact presentations, and managing natural and civil resources. The bundled products will be available in 2008 from the Web sites of Intermap and Autodesk.

By building customized products and services using the world’s leading design software for the manufacturing, building and construction, and media and entertainment markets, Autodesk ISV partners address niche requirements in the industries or markets they serve. These partners specialize in developing, bundling or integrating their software solutions with Autodesk applications, drawing on a deep understanding of their customers’ business requirements in areas such as architecture, building systems engineering, structural engineering, civil engineering, geospatial information, manufacturing, data management, collaboration, education and government. Autodesk ISV partners benefit from Autodesk marketing, materials and events to effectively reach and serve more than millions of users worldwide.

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

HAVE WE REALLY LEARNT THE LESSONS FROM LAST YEAR’S FLOODS?

Flooding costs associated with extreme weather, both financial and emotional, have increased considerably over the last decade, and experts have predicted this trend is set to continue.

Paul Livett, Chairman of GroundSure looks into how increasing the use of flood risk information in property transactions can help to ensure both residential and commercial transactions are conducted on a truly informed basis, with buyers being made aware of environmental risks prior to purchase.

Over 2.2 million homes and small businesses in the UK are located in areas considered at risk of flooding, and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that 570,000 of these face a high risk of flooding. The floods in June and July last year left approximately 48,000 households… More…
