Industry leaders back GeoCommunity ’09 and recognise the Value of Place
The leading companies in the UK GI industry have once again endorsed the industry’s leading geo-event with their sponsorship. This year ESRI UK, Ordnance Survey and Pitney Bowes Business Insight are confirmed as platinum sponsors of GeoCommunity ’09.
Steven Feldman, Chair of GeoCommunity, welcomed the platinum sponsors support “GeoCommunity is a partnership between our sponsors, our delegates and the organising team. We could not deliver such a great conference program at such outstanding value rates without their support. We hope to attract even more delegates than last year’s record level to participate in 3 days of discussion, education, networking and fun while ‘Realising the Value of Place’.”
The platinum sponsors see the conference as an opportunity to strengthen their relationships with over 600 GeoCommunity delegates and to launch new products and services
"This important event presents the best possible platform from which to showcase, for the first time, exciting new products which harness Web 2.0 and OnDemand technologies to equip organisations more effectively with leading GI solutions.” said Gary Roberts, Managing Director UK & Ireland, Pitney Bowes Business Insight
Nick Chapallaz, Director of Strategy and Marketing at ESRI (UK) added that 'The AGI conference has always been an excellent forum for the GI community and is central to the continued development of the GI marketplace'
Commenting on the theme of this year’s GeoCommunity “Realising the Value of Place” and the role that the conference played in raising awareness Vanessa Lawrence CB, Ordnance Survey Director General and Chief Executive said “Place-based information underpins all of our daily lives; many services depend upon a knowledge of ‘place’. Geographical information is a major decision-making tool and the recently launched UK Location Strategy sets out the principles which will enable the UK economy to benefit more fully from its use. Ordnance Survey has been a platinum sponsor of the AGI Geo Community Conference for a number of years. The event has grown from strength to strength highlighting the important role geographic information plays in today’s world.”
There are a small number of sponsorship opportunities still available for this year’s GeoCommunity, details can be found at http://bit.ly/3EqCK
