FARO will be showing long-range,

FARO will be showing long-range, high-resolution Photon scanner at XCES and GEO-10

FARO, the world’s leading provider of portable measurement and imaging systems, will be exhibiting at XCES (2nd – 3rd March, Esher) and GEO-10 (23rd – 24th March, Coventry).

The XCES – taking place at the Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher – is a major event being organised by SURCO Limited, the trading company of the Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. XCES will again follow its established theme of being informative, educational and entertaining. XCES will reach a wide area within the construction and civil engineering industry, including engineers, architects, surveyors, academics and many more.

Combining a dedicated national geospatial trade exhibition with a full two days of conference, GEO-10 will again be taking place at the modern and easily accessible Ricoh Arena in Coventry. GEO-10 will also offer a packed programme of free, show floor seminars, live product demos and great networking opportunities including a Gala Evening.

FARO will present its latest laser scanners Photon 120 and 20, along with the new version of the FARO Scene V. 4.6 scan processing software. The new laser scanners can capture up to 976,000 measuring points a second. The new models, the Photon 120 and 20, are eight times faster. With a range of 120 metres, the Photon 120 has the world’s longest range in the category of phase-shift laser scanners. By contrast, the Photon 20 has been designed for scanning objects at up to 20 metres. Compared with manual processing, the new version of the FARO Scene 4.6 scan processing software enables users to post-process scans automatically up to 90% faster.

“Large imaging assignments such as 3D documentation of shop floors or buildings require hundreds of scans and a significant investment of time and resources,” said David Homewood, Area Vice President of Sales for the UK, France and Benelux. “To remain cost-effective, such projects must be completed as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality of the output. The new Photon laser scanners greatly enhance both the productivity and quality equations for our customers.”

Laser Scanner Account Manager Mark Billingsley will also hold a presentation titled ‘3D Laser Scanning - especially for Architecture and Civil Engineering Applications’ on 3rd March at 10.45am during the XCES show.
