Coventry – 27th August 2008 – FARO, the world market leader in portable computer-aided measurement arms and laser trackers, is staging a Metrology Roadshow at Villa Park Stadium, Birmingham on the 2nd October 2008.
Following the popularity of similar events staged by the company, FARO will be holding an exhibition on metrology for all those involved in the theoretical and practical aspects of measurement. The Roadshow will take place between 10am and 3pm and involve live product demonstrations.
Snacks, coffee and tea will be available throughout the day and at 1pm there will be the opportunity to take part in a guided tour of Villa Park, allowing visitors to catch some behind-the-scenes glimpses of the stadium and see where the football stars prepare for games.
“At the Metrology Roadshow attendees will have the opportunity to witness live demonstrations of all FARO products – ranging from the Laser Scanner for fast 3D capturing of entire factories down to the FARO Gage for the most accurate measurements of small parts, with an accuracy of up to .005mm. This will enable visitors to see for themselves how accurate and easy to use our portable coordinate measuring systems are. We tend to get very positive feedback whenever we do demos as often it’s only then that people realise how much time they can actually save by using our portable systems instead of bringing the part or compound to fixed CMMs. These fixed systems require a lot of space and are often situated in entirely separate rooms,” explains Graham Lincoln, Regional Manager South for FARO UK.
The Roadshow will begin at 10am with a short introduction to FARO and its products. This will be followed by a coffee break, then from 10:45am to 3pm visitors will have the chance to watch live demonstrations of FARO products carried out by FARO’s Account Managers.
Examples of some of the FARO products that will be on show at Villa Park include:
- FaroArm: FARO’s flagship product, available in different versions, accuracies and lengths with up to a 3.7m measurement volume
- Laser Line Probe: used to digitise interchangeably without having to remove either component and thus carry out quick CAD-to-part analysis or reverse engineering
- FARO Gage: used for the most precise measuring applications. With a measurement volume of 1.2m it is ideal for adjusting, aligning, measuring and verifying parts
- FARO Laser Tracker: a portable measuring system that uses laser technology to effectively and accurately measure large parts, tooling and machinery with a range from .025mm to 70m
- FARO Laser Scanner: can be used with minimal training to capture 3D point cloud data. The scanner offers a scan speed of 120,000 points per second while guaranteeing ±2mm systematical distance error at 25m
