FARO, the world’s leading provider of portable measurement and imaging systems, will be hosting a webinar about Building Information Modeling (BIM) on April 22nd.
Reliable as-built information of buildings is becoming more and more important in modern Architecture and Civil-Engineering. This has increased the use of 3D laser scanning of buildings as it is a very efficient way to capture architectural structures into the computer. This trend is being accelerated by the introduction of Building Information Modeling which has recently gained ground in building design and lifecycle management. With the BIM technology being built on 3D CAD models, the need for three-dimensional as-built information is imminent.
On 22nd April FARO will host a webinar about BIM and will present how as-built documentation can be realized with the use of the FARO Laser Scanner Photon. Subsequently it will give an insight in how to convert the point cloud data created by a Photon Laser Scanner into a 3D CAD model using the AutoCAD Architecture software from Autodesk.
