FARO UK exhibits at Offshore Europe from 4th to 7th September in Aberdeen
FARO, the world market leader in portable computer-aided measurement arms and laser trackers, is exhibiting at Offshore Europe Exhibition from 4th to 7th September in Aberdeen.
Offshore Europe is the largest oil & gas conference and exhibition outside North America. A truly global audience of engineers, technical specialists and industry leaders gather to source and discuss new exploration and production technology, to debate new ideas and to discover the solutions that will deliver sustainable oil & gas in the future.
“Offshore Europe is the most important exhibition for FARO UK regarding the Oil and Offshore industry,” said Andrew Tagg, Regional Manager North for FARO UK. “We already have several customers in this area and the show will give us the chance to reach an even broader audience. We will be showing our whole product range – from the Laser Scanner for fast 3D capturing of entire petrochemical factories down to FARO Gage for most accurate measurements of small parts. As an additional attraction to our stand we will offer visitors the chance to win a 30GB iPod.
"Visitors will have the chance to see live demonstrations of FARO’s portable measurement systems at stand 1268. “Our aim is to make people realise how quick and easy measurements can be carried out. Many of our customers used stationary measuring equipment before switching to our portable systems,” Andrew Tagg explained. “Their lead time is reduced while quality standards are improved by using our systems after a few weeks already. This guarantees a very fast ROI.”
FARO’s product range includes the FARO Laser Scanner which was designed with user friendliness in mind. The high performance of the Scanner can be used with minimal training to capture 3D point cloud data. The scanner offers features like photorealistic 3D images including colour option, high speed, modularity and proven technology.
The FARO Gage is the smallest and most precise FARO measuring arm. With a measurement volume of 1.2m it is ideal for adjusting, aligning, measuring and verifying parts. Different software packages are available to suit various requirements.
The FaroArm is available in different versions, accuracies and lengths with up to a 3.6m measurement volume, enabling inspection, reverse engineering and performing CAD-to-Part-analysis on parts, fixtures and assemblies with previously unheard of precision. The FaroArm can be combined with FARO’s Laser Line Probe in order to digitize interchangeably without having to remove either component. Users then can laser scan sections requiring larger volumes of data. The ScanArm is ideal for non-contact measurement applications.
The product range is toped off by the FARO Laser Tracker - a portable measuring system which uses laser technology to effectively and accurately measure large parts, tooling and machinery with a range from .025mm to 70m (0 to 115 foot).

Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.HAVE WE REALLY LEARNT THE LESSONS FROM LAST YEAR’S FLOODS?
Flooding costs associated with extreme weather, both financial and emotional, have increased considerably over the last decade, and experts have predicted this trend is set to continue.
Paul Livett, Chairman of GroundSure looks into how increasing the use of flood risk information in property transactions can help to ensure both residential and commercial transactions are conducted on a truly informed basis, with buyers being made aware of environmental risks prior to purchase.
Over 2.2 million homes and small businesses in the UK are located in areas considered at risk of flooding, and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that 570,000 of these face a high risk of flooding. The floods in June and July last year left approximately 48,000 households… More…
