Exprodat to Integrate Energy Datasets from IHS in Petroleum GIS Training Programme
Exprodat announces an agreement to use energy GIS datasets from IHS Inc., a leading provider of information and insight to the energy industry, in its Petroleum GIS Training Programme. The relationship enables Exprodat to enhance its existing training workflows as well as develop new training scenarios based on alternative petroleum settings and geographic regions using IHS data.
Exprodat’s Training Manager, Chris Skelly, said, “We are looking forward to working with IHS to enhance our GIS training courses with their rich E&P data sets. This will allow us to more clearly demonstrate the value of GIS as a data integration and visualisation platform and improve our basin and play analysis workflows, while complimenting the products already provided by IHS. We will also be able to make our courses more relevant for different geographic markets, allowing clients to learn on data sets that are relevant to their day-to-day work.”
Phil Rooney, Senior Product Manager at HIS said “We are delighted to be working with Exprodat by providing data for their training courses, which helps promote best practices for using GIS technology within the oil and gas sector.”
Exprodat’s E&P industry focused ArcGIS training courses are based on wide experience of the applications of GIS within the petroleum sector, gained through working on a multitude of projects with a wide array of clients. The instructor led classroom-based courses are designed to be as short as possible so that the attendees spend the minimum amount of time away from their 'day jobs.' The courses are delivered as a combination of presentations, demonstrations, case studies and hands-on exercises, and in order to maintain the quality of the classes, Exprodat’s trainers are TAP-certified (www.tap-training.com).
