ESRI (UK) launches online community to support developers
ESRI (UK) the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has launched The ESRI (UK) Developer Hub at the AGI GeoCommunity 2009 event being held in Stratford-upon-Avon, England.
Created in response to feedback from its developer community, the site is a gateway to the ArcGIS Resource Centres, delivering additional news and information to help customers make the most of their ArcGIS developer platform. The Developer Hub includes a free membership option that will enable developers to keep up to date with what's new, find out about the latest products and training options, get ready access to online seminars and enter a series of prize draws.
The Developer Hub will be updated and extended continually to include forums and virtual user groups, providing a UK-focused platform for peer-to-peer knowledge sharing.
Peter Wilkinson, ESRI (UK) Head of Technical Solutions Group, said:
"ArcGIS developers in the UK have told us they needed this service. The Developer Hub will tap into and draw together the creativity and
knowledge of our developer community, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with them to support their needs."
ESRI's ArcGIS provides a standards-based development platform for solving business problems that integrate mapping and geographic
intelligence quickly and cost effectively into desktop, web or enterprise applications.

Adopting Cloud computing can save money, but good governance is essential to manage the risk argues Mike Small
