Delivering Data and Web Services......

DM SOLUTIONS GROUP TO RESELL DIGITALGLOBE WEB DELIVERED DATA AND WEB SERVICES THROUGH PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT

A Partnership to provide digital imagery for web mapping solutions

DM Solutions Group (DMSG) and DigitalGlobe announce from the FOSS4G conference in Victoria, BC, Canada, that DMSG will resell DigitalGlobe data and web services through a partnership agreement. The focus of this relationship will be delivery of data and web services to DMSG’s existing customers and users of MapServer, MapGuide, and OpenLayers technologies.

DMSG has established a leadership presence in open source web mapping technology development and provision of products and solutions around these technologies. DMSG has been delivering data products to DMSG’s customers and partners for over two years and has recently been expanding the Maps for MapServer and Maps for MapGuide product line.

DigitalGlobe (www.digitalglobe.com)is the only geospatial content provider to take an end-to-end approach to geospatial imagery, from acquiring proprietary high-resolution images through a leading- edge satellite and aerial network, to integrating and distributing that data through proprietary web-based search and retrieval system that makes it easy to find, purchase and download global imagery.

DMSG’s position as a leading provider of data to the MapServer and MapGuide user communities, combined with the availability of DigitalGlobe’s world class earth imagery and delivery services made this partnership a natural fit that will benefit the rapidly growing community of MapServer and MapGuide users, already estimated to be over 100,000 worldwide.

"The rapid adoption of open source web mapping technologies and the demand for high quality imagery have accelerated the need for this addition to our data product offerings" said Dave McIlhagga, President & CEO of DM Solutions Group. "Partnering with DigitalGlobe allows us to deliver the industry leading imagery in a seamless manner into our customer and partner solutions."

DMSG and users of MapServer and MapGuide deliver applications into an exhaustive list of Vertical Markets including Location Based Services, Real Estate, Forestry, Oil & Gas, Local Search and Municipal Applications. All of these industries now value the utility of both web mapping technologies and the inclusion of high precision imagery, driving the demand for these new services from DMSG and DigitalGlobe.

We are confident that our partnership with DM Solutions will further expand DigitalGlobe’s reputation as the preferred imagery source for online mapping” said Marc Tremblay, General Manager and Vice-President of DigitalGlobe’s commercial business unit. “DM Solutions reputation and investment in open source web mapping matched with DigitalGlobe’s imagery will deliver higher quality and highly accurate online mapping solutions to meet the expanding market demand.”

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

HAVE WE REALLY LEARNT THE LESSONS FROM LAST YEAR’S FLOODS?

Flooding costs associated with extreme weather, both financial and emotional, have increased considerably over the last decade, and experts have predicted this trend is set to continue.

Paul Livett, Chairman of GroundSure looks into how increasing the use of flood risk information in property transactions can help to ensure both residential and commercial transactions are conducted on a truly informed basis, with buyers being made aware of environmental risks prior to purchase.

Over 2.2 million homes and small businesses in the UK are located in areas considered at risk of flooding, and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) has said that 570,000 of these face a high risk of flooding. The floods in June and July last year left approximately 48,000 households… More…
