Cadcorp and Progeos Corporation sign....

Cadcorp and Progeos Corporation sign US business partner agreement

Progeos will provide GIS solutions and services to municipal and state governments and engineering firms in Northeastern USA.

Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp and Progeos Corporation of Connecticut have signed an agreement in which Progeos becomes a US business partner of Cadcorp and a distributor for the Cadcorp SIS – Spatial Information System family of digital mapping/GIS software.

Progeos provides public and private sector organisations with professional IT infrastructure, asset management and GIS consulting and implementation services and solutions and will initially concentrate on supplying Cadcorp SIS desktop and web-based applications to local and state governments – and to the engineering firms who serve these organisations - in Northeastern USA. The company will also offer GIS software development services.

“We believe that the GIS industry is in the early phases of a transformation in software capability and integration”, said Doug Morrill, founder and CTO, Progeos. “The cost and complexity of GIS solutions is rapidly changing as new technologies offer lower cost, simpler and more powerful spatial information processing solutions”, he explained. “We were attracted to the Cadcorp SIS product family because it provides the end user with the ability to transcend data format issues with ease and because it also provides Web capabilities and a development platform that is low-cost, simpler to use yet, in many respects, more powerful than other products costing much more”, he stated.

“We are delighted to welcome Progeos into Cadcorp’s worldwide family of specialist business partners”, said Mike O’Neil, managing director, Cadcorp. “We look forward to working with the Progeos team and to helping them to develop and deliver more affordable and more manageable GIS solutions to their existing and future customers in the USA.”
