Beacon Dodsworth mobile field force scheduling

In a new partnership with Comet Tracker, Beacon Dodsworth has now made it even easier for managers to schedule their field team’s calls, save on fuel costs and improve customer service.

Prospex, the geographical information system from Beacon Dodsworth ensures that logistics and distribution field forces have optimised call schedules, balanced workloads and efficient cost-effective sales territories.
Easy and flexible to use, the system allows users to set visit priorities (based on man hours, customer weighting or drive times), quickly redefine sales / service territories (allowing managers to adjust territories when new representatives join their team) and even get step-by-step driving instructions. Additionally it is fully compatible with other Beacon Dodsworth or third party demographic, geographic and consumer data, allowing comprehensive profiling of customers and their behaviours.

With Comet Tracker, Prospex scheduling moves from desktop to mobile as fully optimised schedules can be exported directly into the Comet Tracker application. Once imported, users have full ability to dispatch jobs, track workers and receive accurate job information (such as notes, pictures or even digital signatures). Managers and field forces are kept in constant communication with the Comet Tracker application installed on Blackberry or a compatible mobile device.

Comet Tracker’s European Operations Director, Martin Solomon, praised the Beacon Dodsworth system stating, “Prospex is comprehensive, fantastically easy to use and great value for money. Coupled with the Comet Tracker mobile work-flow management system, the gains to be had for the logistics and distribution industries in terms of time and cost savings are phenomenal… Something we could all use given the current state of the economy”.

This new initiative will be showcased at Service Management Expo 2009 alongside Blackberry.
