1Spatial Part of Preferred Team for OSGB

1Spatial is pleased to announce that they are part of Intergraph’s Preferred Supplier Team, chosen by Ordnance Survey of Great Britain, for the provision of its new Geospatial Database and Data Management System (DDMS).

This team has been chosen following an intensive tender process, conducted under the Public Contracts Regulations 2006, Competitive Dialogue Procedure. There was tough competition from a number of impressive industry providers and 1Spatial is delighted that they have reached this stage as part of the Intergraph team, which also includes Snowflake Software.

Ordnance Survey’s decision marks an important stage in the selection process although it does not yet constitute a contract award. The system will provide centralised planning and management of Ordnance Survey’s production activities, in addition to managing the large-scale data holdings that are used to generate market-leading products, such as OS MasterMap.

Mike Sanderson, CEO of 1Spatial commented:

"We are extremely delighted to be working with Intergraph on this initiative. The combined team has been collaborating for many years already as part of the 1Spatial Community, our international partner network. All three organisations have great experience in the market place and more specifically, a pedigree of working with Ordnance Survey Great Britain. We are really looking forward to creating this solution for Ordnance Survey. I believe we are at a pivotal point in the geospatial market which requires this type of collaboration."

MANAGING CLIMATIC RISK

Russell Osborne, Managing Director of Citizen Solutions for Northgate Public Services, comments on managing climate risk in the economic downturn.

During tough economic times, bold steps must be taken to ensure the long-term prosperity of the UK’s communities, economy and natural environment. As outlined in the 2008 Pre-Budget Report, the public sector is to act as the vehicle driving growth in the UK economy. We must make sure that… More…
