1Spatial 2008 Conference showcases EULIS programme

From 29th April to 1st May at the Radisson SAS Hotel, Stansted Airport, UK, 1Spatial’s 2008 Conference: ‘1 Source of Truth’, will be providing an educational forum for the geospatial industry. The Conference will feature a number of activities, including hands-on workshops, and showcase cross-border programmes such as the European Land Information Service (EULIS).

EULIS is a consortium of European National Land Registers including countries such as Sweden, the Netherlands, England, Ireland and Norway. Together, the countries currently forming EULIS cover a landmass of more than 1,500,000 square kilometres, hold details of more than 39,000,000 registered properties and register more than 5,600,000 total property transactions every year. The programme gives organisations the ability to search all of this information online through a single, Internet-based, portal.

Ted Beardsall CBE, Deputy Chief Executive of Land Registry of England and Wales, will be presenting on the topic of ‘The EULIS Service’ on Thursday 1st May as one of the Conference’s keynote speakers. Mr Beardsall commented:

"EULIS has demonstrated what can be achieved when European nations co-operate and are backed by the EU. EULIS will promote cross-border provision of the largest and emotionally most compelling financial transaction that European citizens experience."

Graham Stickler, Product and Marketing Director for 1Spatial commented:

"This is an exciting time of change in our industry and we are delighted to be able to provide such a comprehensive agenda programme for our delegates to learn about and be involved in the issues currently facing us. We are also pleased to be able to educate and inform the market place about initiatives like EULIS that will affect us personally, as well as professionally. 1Spatial is working with several of the EULIS members across Europe, notably with Property Registration Authority Ireland on the award-winning DMapS project."

With an impressive list of sponsors including Autodesk, Blue Marble Geographics, eSpatial, HP, Informatica, Infotech, Intergraph, Oracle, Safe Software, Salford GIS, TCS and Tele Atlas, the Conference is set to deliver a comprehensive learning package for everyone working with spatial data, from expert Practitioners through to Programmers and Chief Executive Officers. Focused discussions, presentations and workshops will assist you in achieving more effective and efficient use of spatial data throughout your organisation, or for any activity relating to integrating spatial data and building Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs).

Registration for the 1Spatial Conference 2008 is NOW OPEN. To find out more and register, please visit www.1spatial.com/conference or contact the conference team on conference@1spatial.com

During tough economic times, bold steps must be taken to ensure the long-term prosperity of the UK’s communities, economy and natural environment. As outlined in the 2008 Pre-Budget Report, the public sector is to act as the vehicle driving growth in the UK economy. We must make sure that… More…
