eSpatial customer EPCOR Utilities win Oracle award

May 12th 2009, Dublin, Ireland, eSpatial, the global Web GIS company, announces that its customer, EPCOR Utilities Inc. (EUI) has been awarded the Oracle Spatial Integrated Enterprise Excellence Award for its enterprise wide solutions including an Integrated Work Order Management System for EPCOR Water Services Inc, built using eSpatial’s Web GIS technology.

EPCOR Water Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EUI, worked with eSpatial to develop the enterprise web-based mapping solution built using iSMART, eSpatial’s full-function Web based GIS product, and Oracle Spatial. The solution, for use in the field and in the office, integrates EPCOR’s current workflow management system and GIS database from both EPCOR and the City of Edmonton to provide a completely integrated solution which can be utilized by employees across the company, including field technical staff, to increase efficiencies and provide access to integrated information to company stakeholders.

EPCOR was selected for the prestigious award for its innovative use and adoption of Oracle Spatial technologies on an enterprise wide scale to increase efficiency and to save costs. Only one organization is selected per year for this award among Oracle’s worldwide user community.

The Work Order Management System for EPCOR Water Services Inc. provides a centralized geospatial web infrastructure that leverages the strengths of eSpatial’s full-function Web GIS technology, and Oracle Spatial. This combination provides for management of Work Orders, Word Requests, Inspection Reports, Viewing and Editing of Facility Attributes, Message Sending, and Customized Searches for spatial data including intersections, addresses, facilities, work orders, and work requests.
