eMap International ImageBoost technology available

eMap International ImageBoost technology available

eMap is pleased to unveil its unique image enhancement process known as ImageBoost (TM). Designed for any raster data, ImageBoost will maximize the spatial information often hidden behind deep shadows, over-saturation, poor color balancing and light haze; and will thus maximize the value of every imagery dollar you spend.

ImageBoost is a proprietary multi-stage process that employs both automated techniques as well as human intervention to deliver you a ready-to-use imagery product with enhanced colors and crisper edges.

The key features of ImageBoost are:

- The robust nature of the process as it can be applied to any raster dataset in any format including GeoTIFF/TIFF, JPEG, BMP, JPEG2000, ECW, IMG and many more

- Expert intervention which can unveil features lost by automated data processing techniques to over-saturation and poor color balancing

- The ability to deliver the final product in a wide variety of formats including GeoTIFF/TIFF, IMG, ECW, JPEG2000, NITF and many more

- ImageBoost imagery can be delivered in two versions depending on the intended use of the data:

(1) ImageBoost Map-Ready - this is an ArcGIS/Photoshop ready product with color balancing applied; it is intended for beginning to intermediate imagery users who will use the data as a backdrop, for site surveys and/or as an interesting picture

(2) ImageBoost Pro - this is a 16-bit product with no color balancing applied; it is intended for advanced imagery users who will mosaic the data and/or desire to apply their own color balancing to highlight important feature classes.

ImageBoost Pricing

Imagery Orders Under 100 sq. km. - $4 per sq. km. (plus base cost of imagery)

Imagery Orders Over 100 sq. km. - $2 per sq. km. (plus base cost of imagery)

Processing Client-Owned Data - $4 per sq. km. (minimum order price - $200)

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

What message are we sending to senior level decision makers about the importance and value of Spatial Data Infrastructure - SDI - if we keep misrepresenting what SDI is or is all about?

In previous editorials in this magazine I have touched on various SDI issues, especially now that the pan-European SDI has achieved a legally mandated status within the European Union's 27 Member States. Yet I fear that the Geographic Information community - or communities, for there are many - continue to… More…
