XXIV FIG International Congress 2010

Facing the Challenges - Building the Capacity
Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre
Sydney, Australia
11 - 16 April 2010

Early Bird Registration closes 28 January 2010!

Don’t pay any more than you have to: Early Bird Registration closes on 28 January 2010. The early bird registration fee for FIG2010 is only AUD$990 if you pay by 28 January 2010.

Don’t let this early bird fly away - register and pay now via the link below.

Note: If you need an invitation letter for visa and other purposes please contact the congress organiser arinex at fig2010@arinex.com.au

Draft Technical Program is available now! Visit the link below.

Important message to authors of Technical Papers

Authors of accepted abstracts should note that the deadline for full papers is 21 January 2010. If the paper is not received by the due date and the author is not registered and has paid by 28 January 2010, the technical paper will be replaced on the program.

The technical program will consist of 80 technical sessions, 40 flash sessions and a number of invited sessions in addition to plenary and keynote sessions and workshops. So this is a Congress for everyone, and not to be missed. Note. Most authors have been informed about the acceptance of their papers and rest will be informed as soon as the decision has been made.

New Plenary Speaker!

Our new speaker in the third Plenary Session is Dr. Mohamed El Shioufi from UN-HABITAT (The United Nations Human Settlements Programme). He will speak about Climate Change and Sustainable Cities: major challenges facing cities and urban settlements in the coming decades. See the other key note speakers at the plenary sessions at the link below. You can also see the invited keynote speakers at the after lunch talks in the technical program.

Don’t forget to register to the Technical Tours!

Each of the Technical Tours is limited in the number of delegates who will be able to attend: usually about a bus (or boat) load, or about 40 people. This is a very small number compared to the number of delegates expected at the Congress, so don’t be left stranded at the bus stop or on the wharf.
Numbers are confirmed by each paid booking, so register and pay now for these exclusive technical tours at the link below.

Remember the options for Social activities

A great introduction to getting yourself in the Congress frame of mind is to participate in some Pre-Congress activities. The Young Surveyors Beyond Horizons tours have been designed for everyone and are fully escorted, taking you to some fascinating parts of our great Aussie continent.

Closer to Sydney, the 2-day History Seminar is an outstanding introduction to both Australian and world Surveying history.

There’s nothing better than to unwind after a hard day at the Congress by indulging in the social program: follow the link below.

And don’t forget about the Golf! The Lakes course is truly magnificent. Please note that participation will be limited to the first 40 delegates to register for the Golf Day.

Adventurous surveyors and their families should book into the Post-Congress Outback tour: a unique way to see the real Australia!
