XACT Technology navigates personal tracking market

XACT Technology navigates personal tracking market

Reston, VA, US January 9, 2009 u-blox, developer of advanced GPS location and tracking technologies for commercial and consumer applications, has been selected to supply XACT TechnologyLLC with high-performance GPS receiver modules for its new line of portable personal tracking devices called XACT|TRAX.

Introduced this week at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the innovative XACT|TRAX personal tracker provides users with up-to-the-minute information on the location of loved ones, pets, vehicles and other assets wherever they may be. Follow-on products in the XACT|TRAX line will include tracking solutions for laptop computers, giving users both navigation capability and a means of recovery if the computer is lost or stolen.

XACTs ability to create an easy and affordable tracking device meets a very large market need. By incorporating our unique positioning and location technology, the XACT|TRAX operates with the highest degree of certainty and speed, noted Nikolaos Papadopoulos, President of u-blox America. The powerful, 50-channel u-blox 5 positioning engine will allow XACTs tracking devices to determine precise location, anywhere in the world, giving users unparalleled location awareness and peace of mind.

The u-blox 5 positioning engine incorporates a variety of features to speed up the time needed to acquire satellite signals and calculate position location. Additionally, the receiver has been engineered to operate in weak signal environments, such as urban canyons and parking structures. The result is the fastest first fix and the ability to perform effectively in the most challenging signal environments.

XACT Technology is in the business of providing consumers with the very best in electronics and technology, says Anthony Antolino, Senior Vice President of XACT Technology. When it comes to locating peoples most prized possessions, we made sure to build our personal tracking devices with the most advanced and reliable GPS positioning component.

The u-blox GPS solution gives us the accuracy, dependability and robustness necessary to be sure our products work everywhere our customers need them to.
