Webinar on Simulation for Sustainable Design 18Mar

NEW YORK, NEW YORK and LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - March 4, 2010 - On 18 March, 2010 CD-adapco will host an online event that will investigate how simulation is being used, from the earliest stages of the building design process, to provide a safe, comfortable environment for occupants in the most energy efficient manner possible. Interest for this event can be registered at the link below or by emailing info@uk.cd-adapco.com.

The guest speaker for the event is Scott Reynolds, who is the Manager CAES Group, at M/E Engineering - a leading Sustainability Consultancy. Scott will explore the benefits of using engineering simulation to "Wring out Energy Efficiency in typical laboratory designs." In his presentation, Scott will cover the application of advanced analysis tools, such as Computational Fluid Dynamics, to aid in the design of labs to attain more optimal ventilation distribution, improve indoor air quality and achieve at least a 25% reduction in HVAC operating cost.

During the event CFD experts will demonstrate the whole simulation process - from architectural rendering to engineering data analysis, using CD-adapco's STAR-CCM+ Engineering Simulation tool. Practical examples will show in detail how advanced analysis tools like STAR-CCM+ can handle the complex geometry of real buildings, and how building configurations can be dynamically altered with little or no manual effort from the user.

Presenters will also cover the application of advanced building physics for simulating building and environmental flows, including long and shortwave radiation, occupant comfort complex glazing and humidity and condensation.

There is no charge to attend this online event, and if you are interested in participating please register at the link below.

CD-adapco is the world's largest independent CFD focused CAE provider. Our core product is the technology-leading simulation package, STAR-CCM+. The scope of our activities extends well beyond CFD software development to encompass a wide range of CAE engineering services.
