Wayfinder, a leading provider of innovative location and navigation services for mobile phones, is extending its navigable map coverage to Australia and New Zealand.
In Australia and New Zealand, NAVTEQ®, a leading global provider of digital maps for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, has been chosen to supply maps for Wayfinders mobile applications. NAVTEQ® map data was chosen due to its excellent quality and coverage.
This extension occurs as Wayfinder Navigator™, Wayfinders flagship product, is launched in the region. Wayfinder users from Australia and New Zeeland will have access to local maps with points of interest, extended coverage, voice instructions and navigation in their mobile phones.
"We need to have access to the most up to date map possible," explained Magnus Nilsson, CEO of Wayfinder, "and NAVTEQ® has the processes and resources in place to fulfill that requirement. Consequently we will be able to provide our customers with current, fresh data so the traveler can just relax and enjoy the trip!"
