Wayfinder Power Search for iPhone and iPod Touch sent the Wayfinder servers humming with more than 100,000 search requests within 24 hours of launch – again proving the value of Wayfinder technology in a consumer-friendly application.
Quietly launched on July 1st, Wayfinder Power Search for iPhone and iPod Touch is a powerful search tool that provides more than 100 million points of interest available through a simple web interface. Responses include the display of pictures and in-depth descriptions of restaurants, hotels, bars, museums and other types of location information thanks to content partners such as Tele Atlas, Wcities and Yellow and White pages providers around the world.
"It is amazing what you can do when you combine the advanced Wayfinder Location Aware Servers with a simple web application," said Magnus Nilsson, Wayfinder CEO. "With the new iPhone development tools from Apple, combined with the launch this week of iPhone 3G, which has built-in GPS, the opportunities for compelling location applications are tremendous. This is only the beginning of a suite of cool applications that we intend to bring to iPhone users."
If you are an iPhone or iPod Touch user, simply enter getwf.com into your browser on the device and add the page to the Home Screen. From then on you will have the world at your fingertips.
