ViDiS NaviLogic Software uses deCCarta Technology

London, England – July 22, 2008 – deCarta, the leading supplier of software and services for the Location-Based Services (LBS) industry, today announced it is supplying its flagship geospatial software platform, Drill Down Server (DDS), to ViDiS Limited for its NaviLogic fleet management software solution. ViDiS is based in Wroclaw, Poland.

The NaviLogic fleet management software leverages the performance of deCarta’s DDS to provide the critical tracking functionality within the product. By dramatically speeding up the map display and the display of the tracked vehicles, DDS delivers a more accurate representation of real-time tracking of customer vehicles and assets. As a result, the optimization provides the end-user with a responsively accurate environment from which to make more efficient resource and logistics management decisions.

Piotr Iwaszko, NaviLogic Project Manager at ViDiS commented, “As we continue our expansion into the Eastern European fleet management market, deCarta’s solution is ideal for us. It did not require us to be geospatial map platform experts, but enabled us to quickly deploy the latest high-performance mapping technologies yet still customise and brand the maps such that they endorse our corporate identity. With deCarta’s platform, NaviLogic is strongly positioned to provide an exceptionally efficient and feature-rich solution to our customers.”

Martin Wenzel, Director Central Europe for deCarta added, “ViDiS is a rapidly expanding company. We’re proud to be providing them with higher performance and flexibility for the NaviLogic application as well as the ability to effortlessly scale in the future as they continue their growth.”

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

What message are we sending to senior level decision makers about the importance and value of Spatial Data Infrastructure - SDI - if we keep misrepresenting what SDI is or is all about?

In previous editorials in this magazine I have touched on various SDI issues, especially now that the pan-European SDI has achieved a legally mandated status within the European Union's 27 Member States. Yet I fear that the Geographic Information community - or communities, for there are many - continue to… More…
