The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) will highlight the most recent developments to its new Admiralty Vector Chart Service (AVCS) at SMM Hamburg 2008.
AVCS, which was launched at dedicated events in Singapore and London in April this year, integrates official electronic navigational charts (ENCs) from national hydrographic offices across the globe to provide a comprehensive world series for the international mariner.
As well as having their own dedicated presence in Hall B6, stand number B6.184, the UKHO will exhibit with a number of partners from its distributor network during the international trade fair which takes place at Hamburg Messe and Congress GmbH from September 23 to 26.
UKHO will also launch the Admiralty WebChart Service (AWCS) at the event which take place next month. Developed by UKHO in direct response to demands from commercial shipping companies, AWCS enables shore-based users to view Admiralty charts instantly over the internet. Visitors to the UKHO stand will be able to view an AWCS demonstration every day at 1100 hours.

Adopting Cloud computing can save money, but good governance is essential to manage the risk argues Mike Small
