The UK Environment Agency are delighted to announce the launch of the Detailed River Network at Central Hall, Westminster, on 16 September.
This is a very important new dataset. It accurately maps every river in England and Wales from source to sea, using a system of links and nodes. It contains over 300,000km of watercourse and over 26,000km of offline drainage.
We would like to invite you to attend our event on the 16th September at Central Hall, Westminster.
We are running two identical half day sessions. The morning session will start at 9:30am (registration from 8:45am) and will end with lunch at 12:00pm. The afternoon session will start at 3:00pm (registration at 2:30pm) and will end with drinks and canapés at 5:30pm until 7pm. Don’t forget to tell us which session you would like to attend.
During the sessions, we will tell you how it was constructed, what it contains and how we use it ourselves. The exhibition area will allow you to see real applications of the DRN. In fact the focus of the event is to try to understand the thousands of potential applications of the data, and how it can be put to work within your organisation.
