First Announcement and Call for Papers
UDMS, the Urban Data Management Society, has organised international symposia at various locations in Europe in order to promote the development of information systems in local government since 1971. An important aim of UDMS has been to provide a forum for people to discuss new approaches, to consider new technologies, and to share practical experiences in the field of urban data management. The focus has been on urban applications, but regional and rural issues have always been well represented and have grown recently in importance.
For the next symposium, the 27th, organised in cooperation with the University of Ljubljana and the HafenCity University Hamburg, the Organizing Committee invites you to submit a paper and take part in this important event. The International Programme Committee will consider two types of papers:
- Scientific research papers up to 6000 words (peer reviewed by three reviewers).
- Technical papers up to 3000 words.
All papers will be orally presented at the conference and printed in the UDMS proceedings that will be published by Taylor & Francis as a hardbound book.
In addition the International Programme Committee will consider proposals for the presentation of experiences given by or about Public Authorities. In this case only a A4 page abstract is required. Accepted proposals will be orally presented and copy of the presentation slides and/or papers will be made available on the UDMS web site.
The International Programme Committee would like to address the following overall themes:
- Integrated risk and disaster management for urban areas
- GIS in Urban and Regional Data Management for Sustainable Development
- Ubiquitous information cities.
In addition, topics that could be considered with reference to the overall themes include:
- Evolution of Urban Data Management to the enterprise level
