Tyco Electronics Launches New GPS Antenna Module

MUNICH, Germany -- August 31, 2007 – The A1035-D is the optimized combination of Tyco Electronics’ GPS receiver module A1080-A with a 3dB-gain patch antenna.

Fastest start-up behavior (<35s under cold start condition), highest sensitivity (-159dBm tracking) and minimal power consumption (36mA average tracking current) are the key features of Tyco Electronics’ high end GPS receiver module A1080-A. By combining the A1080-A with a state of the art patch antenna, which provides a 3dB gain, shows an almost perfectly hemispherical radiation field and operates virtuallv independently of the surrounding equipment, the A1035-D was created.

Tyco Electronics offers a wide range of GPS antenna modules to support customers who are not specialized in RF and wish to implement a GPS function into their design. The accurate PVT information is obtained by simply connecting 3 digital signals (Power, GND, and Serial-out).

This Month's Burning Issue...
Each month we select a hot topic and a leading figure in the industry to write about it.
This month's burning issue:

What message are we sending to senior level decision makers about the importance and value of Spatial Data Infrastructure - SDI - if we keep misrepresenting what SDI is or is all about?

In previous editorials in this magazine I have touched on various SDI issues, especially now that the pan-European SDI has achieved a legally mandated status within the European Union's 27 Member States. Yet I fear that the Geographic Information community - or communities, for there are many - continue to… More…
