KOREC is delighted to announce that Trimble’s VRS iScope™ asset tracking service is now available as an upgrade option for all subscribers to the recently launched Trimble VRS Now Service in Ireland.
iScope is a new feature that allows office based users to track ‘live’ the progress of a GPS survey, point by point, from their desktop. Developed to bring Trimble customers superior data quality by allowing live checking of observation quality, it also allows network users to better manage their assets, simplify project scheduling and review previous survey paths. KOREC Ireland Survey/Construction consultant Sean Higgins states, “This is an excellent tool for improving field productivity. Missed points can be spotted immediately cutting down on time consuming rework and repeat visits to sites. You can see exactly where operators are and what they are doing which allows you to monitor both their progress and their safety. Take up for the newly launched Trimble VRS Now Service has been exceptionally high throughout the island for both mapping and survey usage, and iScope is an exciting additional benefit.”
Trimble’s VRS Now Service was launched in Ireland at the end of 2008 and is entirely managed, monitored and maintained throughout Ireland by Trimble and its Irish partner, KOREC.
Responsible for the network from start to finish, Trimble / KOREC are able to offer a flexible pricing policy that differentiates between users requiring survey or mapping accuracy. Subscribers can also benefit from pricing that allows those who opt for limited usage to spread their 7,200 minute allocation over a quarter rather than a ‘use or lose’ monthly quota.
About Trimble VRS Now – Ireland’s first GNSS Network
Trimble’s VRS Now Service in Ireland provides subscribers with quality GPS and GLONASS network correction data based on a network of 22 GNSS reference stations across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Users connect into the system using a wireless connection; the software acknowledges the users’ field positions and provides a stream of correctional data to enable centimeter accuracy throughout the network. VRS is the only international accepted standard which fully supports GPS and GLONASS network correction data.
No longer dependant on a field base station, precision GPS surveys can be up and running in minutes. And without the need for base station hardware, the user’s GPS receivers can now work independently as rovers—saving time and money.
A subscription to Trimble VRS Now, a GPS rover, and internet connectivity via mobile phone / internal SIM card is all a user needs to begin surveying or collecting data with Trimble precision. Surveyors and other users can switch on their receiver and real-time corrections will be available in seconds. In most cases, no further GPS investment is necessary. Trimble VRS Now works with many GPS and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) survey instruments from a variety of manufacturers.
Licenses can be easily bought on-line. For further information, please visit the site below or call KOREC on 00 353 1 456 4702
