Transoft Solutions Employees for Olympic Duty

February 4, 2010 – Vancouver, BC, Canada

Transoft Solutions, a proud Vancouver based developer of industry leading CAD based software for the engineering and architectural communities worldwide announces that two of its team members, Michael Frost, Product Manager and Darren Brown, Software Developer, are serving as volunteers for the XXI Olympic Winter Games and the X Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

“It offers a great deal of pride knowing that I am actively supporting, my city, my country, and our athletes during their Olympic endeavors instead of standing on the sidelines or in front of a TV,” said Frost. I remember the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary and how much excitement surrounded it... this time I get to be a part of this great event.”

For Brown, volunteering for the Olympic Games was something he became excited about just shortly after Vancouver won the bid. “It’s that once in a lifetime kind of thing you just have to be a part of,” said Brown. “I’m really looking forward to the experience of being a volunteer for Winter Olympics and all of the memories it will create.”

Frost and Brown will be assisting in technical positions. Frost will be providing support at the Vancouver Media Center in March for the Paralympics while Brown will be providing support at the Whistler Media Centre during the Winter Olympics in February. According to both, their training and backgrounds at Transoft Solutions have them feeling very confident that they will give their volunteer positions the same exceptional performance that they deliver in their current duties. “Other than the personal pride I will feel from the completion of a successful event, I’m hoping that through this experience I will learn new technology and management skills that
will benefit Transoft Solutions,” Frost remarked.

Commenting on which events they’ll be watching during the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, while Frost admits that he is somewhat of an “Olympic junkie,” Brown said the his duties won’t leave much time to be watching events however, “the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the speed skating should be interesting.”

The entire Transoft Solutions team wishes them well during this once-in-a-life time opportunity. Both Frost and Brown will be recounting their experiences in a special section on Ahead of the Curve, Transoft Solutions official blog site.
