28-August-2007 - The GEO India Conference and Exhibition replaces the Association of Petroleum Geologists, India (APG) event, which has been taking place since 2002. The aim of this new show is to provide a biennial forum for geoscientists from across South Asia to meet, review and discuss the latest geoscience research and technology.
The Conference is being organised by the APG and AAPG, with support from the Society of Petroleum Geophysicists, India (SPG) and the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts, India (SPWLA). The conference theme for GEO India 2008 is ‘Investing in Geoscience to Secure the Future’. India’s petroleum sector is entering a phase of unprecedented growth, but much of its future success will depend on getting the geoscience data and analysis right today. This conference will look to build on existing foundations to make India the regional centre for geoscience excellence.
The GEO India exhibition will run alongside the conference, providing a window of opportunity for local and international companies who are committed to the market, to demonstrate the very latest products and services in this fast changing industry.
