Sverdlovsk Oblast with the area over 190 thousand kilometers was covered by detail IRS satellite mosaic (spatial resolution 5.8 m). seamless color-alanced mosaic was developed by specialists at ScanEx R&D based on primarily 2007-2008 satellite imagery and was published at the popular resource kosmosnimki.ru on 18 August. Yekaterinburg area received IKONOS coverage with over 1 m patial resolution.
IRS satellite mosaic available on kosmosnimki.ru portal, currently covers over 3 mln km2 of the Russian territory: Central, Southern and Volga Federal districts, Republic of Karelia (except ofor the southern regions), western Arkhangelsk Oblast, Sverdlovsk Oblast.
Addition of Sverdlovsk Oblast satellite coverage on kosmosnimki.ru resource opened a new stage of ScanEx’s project to build a common detail satellite imagery mosaic for the wholde extent of the Russian territory. It is the first time the geoportal publishes the coverage of the area located mainly in Asian Russia.
