SuperGeo at 2009 East Asia Geopark International

SuperGeo is invited to 2009 East Asia Geopark International Conference and shows SuperGIS Mobile Tour at Yeliu Geopark

The Department of Geography at National Taiwan University (NTU) and Geographical Society co-host “2009 East Asia Geopark International Conference” during 4/27 ~ 5/4 at NTU. The participants are geological experts from the governments, the academia, and related organizations. Around 40 of them are from Australia, Europe, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Vietnam. Thus, the conference is expected to enhance global experience interflow and promote the geological parks for Taiwan.

The organizers also held a workshop at Yeh-Liu Geopark, one of the most famous scenic sites in Taiwan. SuperGeo is invited to the workshop for demonstrating the SuperGIS Mobile Tour, self-developed Mobile Tourism Guide System. Combining GPS and GIS technologies, the system allows tourists to explore the scenery with multimedia materials on PDA. By means of the handy device, users can obtain rich travelling information, find the direction and distance to next scenic spot, and even get warning signals when approaching dangerous areas.

Therefore, these participants from different countries not only see the special and amazing scenery in Yeh-Liu Geopark, but also learn the functions and usage of SuperGIS Mobile Tour, which can be used in geological tourism as well as park management, and also has huge potential in global markets.
