The Training and Support Center at SuperGeo Technologies is invited by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Taiwan Government to hold a professional GIS training program for the staff at related units.
The Ministry of Transportation and Communications was hoping to enhance the professional skills and increase work efficiency for the staff by means of GIS software and technologies. SuperGeo’s Training and Support Center thus is organized to organize a series of GIS training classes combining ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) knowledge for the Ministry. The course content includes GIS theories, GIS applications, GIS data production and advanced functions, 3D GIS, Spatial Analyst, WebGIS, Remote Sensing, and the integration of ITS along with GIS technologies.
The training program that employs GIS to build and utilize transportation data and shows the practical applications of GIS and ITS integration has largely enhanced the work convenience and effectiveness, as well as related knowledge for the staff. GIS application to facility management and disaster observation, for instance, are taught in this course.
The learners are representatives from different units of Ministry of Transportation and Communications. After the training course, they are expected to bring GIS knowledge and applications to their units, such as transportation, tourism, post, and weather, and then provide better service to the public. This course therefore also benefits the range and application of GIS technologies to more people.
