Spatial Technology Extends UK Presence

September 1st, 2008 – Spatial Technology of Sweden has extended its presence in the UK with the launch of Spatial Technology (UK). A well-established provider of leading edge spatial data warehouse solutions and web based geographical information systems (GIS), Spatial Technology already has a number of UK local authorities as customers and a key emergency service.

Spatial Technology’s ISM is a class leading spatial data management solution that is used extensively by Local Government and utilities in Scandinavia, enterprise development zones in China and a number of UK local authorities. ISM provides organisations with a simple to use but very powerful system for the administration of geographical and other data file structures connecting disparate systems and their data in one commonly accessed data warehouse.

Spatial Technology (UK) is led by two highly experienced GI professionals with over 25 years of combined experience in the GI sector. Ian Rudd, Managing Director, was formerly Worldwide GIS Support Manager at Unisys, European Government Sector Marketing Manager for MapInfo and latterly Senior Sales Consultant at Aligned Assets. Chris Wooding, Technical Director, was IT Support and GIS Manager for High Peak Borough Council before joining Aligned Assets as a Senior Consultant.

We are delighted that Ian and Chris have chosen to represent us in the UK, said Thomas Olsson General Manager of Spatial Technology in Sweden. We have already had some real success working with them on various UK projects and the time now seems right to go to the next level with a full presence in the UK.

“We are very excited about the prospects for Spatial Technology (UK),” said Ian Rudd. “We already have a number of established customers and will be working closely with them, to ensure continuity of service and support”.
