Smart Grid Stimulus Funds Webinar for Utilities

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., April 23, 2009 - Intergraph and Stellar Grants Inc. have teamed to offer an informative webinar at 1:00 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, April 28 to assist utilities in applying for Smart Grid grants under the federal economic stimulus and recovery act.

The no-cost, one-hour webinar will provide grant application strategy and process guidelines for utilities interested in the approximately $15.5 billion available in grants to modernize their grid infrastructure and operations. The grants are part of the nearly $800 billion included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.

Intergraph is a leading provider of integrated solutions that enable utilities to efficiently manage and operate advanced grids. Stellar Grants brings to the table more than 20 years of experience in grant writing and funding services.

"The ARRA offers utilities tremendous opportunities to develop and modernize their power grids," said Jay Stinson, vice president of Utilities & Communications at Intergraph. "Through this webinar, we hope to concisely provide the information utilities need to identify and apply for available funding that will help them better manage and operate their Smart Grids."

"Stellar Grants is proud to team with Intergraph to raise awareness around this important Smart Grid and electric infrastructure modernization initiative and to provide guidance for utilities interested in better understanding how to obtain the funding available for these projects," said Kimberly Fontenot, president of Stellar Grants.

In addition to providing a solid asset management platform on which to build next-generation intelligent grids, Intergraph also offers a consolidated Smart Grid command-and-control center that fuses its outage, asset and mobile workforce management technology with distribution management and SCADA functionality for maximum grid efficiency.
