Seoul Commtech relies on u-blox GPS

Thalwil, Switzerland and Seoul, Korea – Sept. 8, 2010 - Seoul Commtech, a member of the Samsung Group and an internationally
active high-tech company focusing on telecom, transportation, enterprise, home and security systems, has chosen u-blox as its partner for embedded GPS technology.

Seoul Commtech’s award-winning “MPEON Live 3D”, is a compact, multifunction PND which combines u-blox’ UBX-G6010 single-chip GPS receiver with u-blox’ AssistNow online aiding data to guarantee ultra-fast 3D positioning, even in areas of poor GPS satellite reception. The AssistNow data is available throughout the country over Korea’s Digital Multimedia Broadcast (DMB) network.

Additional features include integrated electronic toll collection to facilitate “drive-through” payment for road usage, high quality digital TV (DMB) and advanced multimedia player.

“With the help of u-blox’ advanced GPS technology we are proud to have designed a
cutting-edge PND that delivers unprecedented positioning performance as well as automatic toll collection and rich entertainment features” said Kookhee Lee, Seoul Commtech VP and CTO. “The MPEON Live 3D does much more than guide you to your destination; it turns driving into a pleasure.”

“We are pleased that Seoul Commtech has successfully implemented our latest GPS technology platform u-blox 6, as well as capitalized on our globally-available AssistNow service for accelerated GPS”, said Samuel Ji, u-blox Country Manager, Korea.
