ScanEx’s web-technology in Maps @Mail.Ru 2.0 proje

2008-11-26 - ScanEx RDC specialists have developed a web-platform for Maps@Mail.Ru 2.0 map service with own technology that had been used as a basis for kosmosnimki.ru web-site.
From creation of satellite imagery mosaics to interactive map review in web-interface – the complete arsenal of ScanEx’s web-technologies was used for this map service.
Currently maps of Moscow and Leningrad Regions are available on Maps@Mail.Ru 2.0 beta-versions. Mapping data for the territory of Moscow and Moscow Region is supplied by ZAO “GeoCenter-Consulting”, and of St-Petersburg and Leningrad Region – by ZAO “KARTA Ltd”. Maps design and rendering (drawing in form of raster images) is the result of ScanEx RDC specialists work. They also prepared the required mosaics of satellite images based on SPOT 2,4 data (10 m resolution) and KOMPSAT-2 (1 m resolution).
In addition, ScanEx specialists took part in preparation of the mechanism to display traffic data for users. Traffic data was supplied by ООО «MIT» company (City Guide brand).
In future, Maps@Mail.Ru project plans to expand geographical coverage, improving interface and offering new user-oriented services.
