Satel chooses u-blox GSM technology

Thalwil, Switzerland and Gdansk, Poland - Jan. 13, 2010 - u-blox, a leading fabless provider of embedded positioning and wireless communication solutions, is pleased to announce that its small-outline LEON GSM/GPRS modem has been designed into Satel's GSM LT2 and GPRS-T3 wireless security modules. In the near future Satel intends to expand the use of LEON G-100 GSM/GPRS modem into several more devices.

Satel selected u-blox' wireless modem based on several stringent criteria. "After careful evaluation of the available GSM/GPRS modems, we selected the LEON solution based on its robust performance, compact size, and excellent technical support from u-blox" said Tomasz Kaminski, Vice Director of Satel's Purchasing Department. "Satel is known for its high quality and highly reliable security products, a reputation we are confident to maintain with u-blox as our embedded GSM partner".

Efficient and reliable messaging is essential for modern security systems. Satel provides a complete range of security solutions including devices intended for reliable transmission of alarm messages through a variety of available networks: GSM, PSTN telephone, ISDN, and Ethernet.
